Reproductive Justice: Rising to the Challenges
Find us in the On-Demand Library in the Virtual GA Participation Portal
UU Women’s Federation President Claire Sexton hosts past presidents Arlene Johnson, Linda Lu Burciaga, and Rev. Marti Keller (photos at left) to explore the past, present and future of UUWF.
Their inspiring conversation is a poignant reminder that the work is not yet done, and provides insights as to how we can support those striving to empower women’s rights. They inform us it critical to be vigilant to ensure policies protect women and girls. Indeed, now more than ever we need to be alert to oppressions regarding women’s reproductive rights, contraceptive rights, right of choice, post-abortion care, and even ensure their sanitary needs are met.
Special acknowledgement to the work being done by the National Women’s Law Center, the National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda, and Sister Song. Gratitude to Gretchen Ohmann (Co-Convener of UU Women and Religion) for running tech.
This workshop is dedicated to Betty McCollum, our beloved board member who died of Covid19 in NYC.
